School Closures

Actions in the event of closure due to severe weather

Any decision to close the school will be made on the basis of weather forecasts, a local assessment of the conditions and the risk to safety of children and staff.

If it is deemed unsafe to open the school, information will be communicated as follows:

We will do our very best to provide updates in plenty of time to enable you to make contingency arrangements; please be re-assured that we will make every effort to keep Commonweal open.

If it is necessary to close the school during the school day students will not be sent home unless we are entirely confident that they will be able to make their journey safely, gain access to their homes and be safe there.
